Summertown Singers 2012
Tuesday 14th –Saturday 18th August

We have received an invitation from the cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, to sing sacred music during a mass and to give a short recital of secular music afterwards. The town is situated on the banks of the Oja river in Northern Spain. Its name refers to its founder, Dominic de la Calzada, who built a bridge, hospital, and hotel here for pilgrims on the Way of St. James. We leave it to you to arrange your accommodation and flights: nearer the time you will be provided with the schedule of events in Spain. You are free, of course, to extend your stay either side of these core holiday dates. In addition, there will be rehearsals in Oxford beforehand, when the music is learnt and prepared for the trip.
