~ 50th Anniversary Year ~

Summertown Choral Society

New Term Starts Thursday 9th September!

2010-2011 promises to be a special year for the Summertown Choral Society as it is the year that we celebrate our fiftieth anniversary, and we aim to make it our best year yet!

If you would like to join us for this momentous year and share in the celebrations, then please do come along at the start of the new term which begins on 9th September from 7.15pm in the hall behind the United Reformed Church in Summertown. You will be welcomed with an introductory drink and have the opportunity to talk with existing members before the first rehearsal begins. We aim to foster a friendly, sociable atmosphere within the society and we welcome new members of all voices and ages, experienced or beginner, at any time, without the need for an audition.

Regular rehearsals are every Thursday from 7.30 - 9.00 pm at the United Reformed Church. Membership is only £70 for two concert terms or £40 for a single term, and new members are welcome to attend a few rehearsals before deciding whether to join.

Singing is a natural way of relaxing and it's fun too, so even if you haven't sung before why not come along and give it a go?

Handel's Messiah

Our anniversary year begins with a performance of a piece popular with both choirs and audiences alike. Our performance of Messiah will be enhanced by a Baroque Orchestra - the ideal accompaniment to a piece from this period.
