Sat 31st Jan 09 - St. Margaret's Church - Brahms's Ein Deutsches Requiem and Schubert's The Lord is my shepherd.

Dress - Women: all black, Men: black bow tie.

Rehearsal Schedule

Thu 18th Dec 08 Rehearsals continue until the last Thursday before Christmas.
Thu 8th Jan 09 Rehearsals resume from the second Thursday of the new year.
Tue 27th Jan 09 7.30pm - Additional rehearsal at the URC.
Thu 29th Jan 09 7.15pm to 9.15pm in St. Margaret's Church.
Sat 31st Jan 09 1.30pm to 4.30pm in St. Margaret's Church (with soloists); return between 7.30pm and 7.45pm for the concert.

Tue 23rd Dec 08 Liedertafel accompanied by the 2 sopranos Helen and Kate Ashby present A Candlelit Christmas Concert - 8.00pm at St John's College Chapel, St. Giles, Oxford with Colin Dexter (creator of Inspector Morse) as reader.
Fri 2nd Jan 09 The Messiah at the Sheldonian at 7.30pm - performed by a youth choir from the USA. In addition The Summertown Singers (grown out of the SCS summer trips to Spain and Italy) will sing seasonal songs. This concert is FREE with a retiring collection in aid of The Art Room
28th Nov 08 - 25th Apr 09 Hallelujah! The British Choral Tradition at The Bodleian Library - A winter exhibition devoted to 1000 years of music-making, especially celebrating four composers with anniversaries in 2009 – Purcell, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn. Local choral societies, including the Summertown Choral Society, are also featured!
Sat 7th Feb 09 Join others to sing Handel's Zadok the Priest, Haydn's Nelson Mass and Mozart's Requiem at the Sheldonian. Rehearsals from 10am to 5.30pm, performance at 7.30pm. Arranged by The Art Room - sorry, no alto places left.
