What a weekend that was….a super concert thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

There are so many people to thank for their various roles and responsibilities; the Committee; Lindsey our treasurer overseeing the ticket sales…we sold 226 tickets which is 30% more than last Summer. Julia on the publicity and marketing, Felicity on the refreshments, Sue our concert manager and her tireless arrangements of the seating plan, Caroline our librarian arranging all the scores, Maria our membership secretary who also assisted with the scores. But of course there are more who supported the preparations in the weeks approaching and then on the night. Martin and Phillip overseeing the stage assembly and dismantling. Then there are all us who sang or if unable to sing attended and took part in those very many enjoyable rehearsals.

And who can forget our wonderful soloists; Elspeth Piggott and Gareth Brynmor Jon.

That said none of this would be possible without the expertise of the directorship of Duncan and the superb piano talent of Julian.

It just goes to show how a super team can work together to achieve an excellent concert. The informal feedback has been very positive, and we may have even acquired a new member or two.

Therefore a wonderful concert and well done and thank you to everyone who made it all possible.

Next concert
Our next concert is Bach’s St John Passion which will be performed on the 19th August in the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Proms series. I have added the link for those who wish to attend or listen to it on the radio.

I now turn to the Summer party;

The summer party
 It is now time to celebrate and our party will be at St MIchael’s Church on the 1st June from 6pm to 9pm. This is a bring and share party for both drinks and food. I will be there from approximately 5pm to set up and if there are a few who wish to support me in setting up chairs and tables I will be very grateful. Four volunteers at the most will suffice. Please email me direct if you can assist with the setting up at 5pm.
