Come And Join Us!
Summertown Choral Society gives two concerts a year, generally in January/February and May/June, usually in St Andrew’s Church, North Oxford. The year consists of two terms, and runs from early September to May or June, with short breaks for Christmas and Easter.
Joining SCS
Summertown Choral Society welcomes new members of all ages, voices, and abilities. There is no audition. If you would like, just come along and sing with us in a rehearsal before deciding whether you’d like to join.
Next term – which starts on 12 September 2024 – we will be preparing for a concert of Bach’s St John Passion, which we will be performing on 1 February 2025. For more details click here.
Recent programme
Our most recent concert – music by Brahms and Vaughan Williams – took place on 18 May 2024.
A full list of the works sung by the Summertown Choral Society is available on our Concert History page.
Rehearsal time and venue
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings, 8-9.30pm, in the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Summertown, between September and late May. There is also an opportunity for a cappella singing with the Summertown Singers on a summer trip. In August 2023 the group visited Brasov in Romania.
